Nene: Has caught the eye
The agent of Paris St Germain star Nene claims his client joined the French giants to further his international ambitions.
The 29-year-old moved to the capital club over the summer after impressing at Monaco last term.
He penned a three-year contract upon his arrival, underlining his commitment to the cause.
Nene's agent claims the Brazilian playmaker spurned offers from Juventus, Werder Bremen, Olympiakos, Benfica and Fenerbahce in order to join PSG, such was his desire to link up with the club.
Christophe Mongai insists PSG hold a prominent place in Brazilian football society, and it was for that reason that Nene opted to remain in France.
"When Paris showed an interest he immediately thought about the impact he could make in Brazil," Mongai told L'Equipe.
"For Brazilians, PSG are THE French club. The Brazil team was therefore in his thoughts because he knew he would get a lot of coverage."
Nene's plan appears to have worked, as Brazil boss Mano Menezes has revealed that he is considering calling upon the much-travelled winger.
"Yes, we are following his performances," he said.
"In Brazil he played as a left winger but now he is much more versatile. He has gained more experience from playing in a central role at times."
