Who is up for Cup?

Tevez: Is he worth a place in United's starting XI?

Four teams are now just one step from a place at Wembley for the Carling Cup final and we would like to know who you think will go all the way.

Can Tottenham retain the cup following their win over Watford? Will Harry Redknapp make it a domestic cup double to go with his success at Portsmouth?

What did you make of Manchester United's win over Blackburn? Will Paul Scholes' return make a difference to Sir Alex Ferguson's men as they go for glory on five fronts?

Can hat-trick hero Carlos Tevez push for a regular starting place following his efforts against Rovers?

Will 2009 be the year of the underdog? Can Burnley or Derby make it to Wembley? Would you like to see them kept apart in this weekend's draw, which you can see live on Soccer Saturday.

Robert Mawdsley (Tottenham Hotspur fan) says...

This year is again full of surprises, Burnley & Derby into the Semis, its marvellous for football, if Spurs and MU miss each other in the draw then Im sure its a premiership final, as the experience teams will win over two legs, if they draw each other then we have a very special final with a Championship side going for glory and Europe, I don't think MU beating Spurs is as sure bet as none of the other top 3 have beat them this season. I would love to see Spurs go al the way again and we are a cup side so im backing them to win. Bring on the draw.

First of all, I have to say that I am very impressed with Burnley's achievement so far. Second of all I have to admit that they (of all) deserve to win the cup. My third point would be more realistic; Manchester United will win the Carling Cup. The least I can hope for Burnley is to reach the final.

Scott Barker (Tottenham Hotspur fan) says...

As a Spurs fan i think its great were in a semi final the 3rd year in a row! I think its better to get Man U in the final not because it would be a great football match, but were more or less guaranteed european football for next season, and we can then focus on the league maybe a repeat of last season top 10 finish im hopin for a great second half of the season!! Come On You Spurs!!!

Geoffrey Ellis (Burnley fan) says...

Off course most people would like a burnley v derby final.Would make a change, i think arsene wegner got a shock tuesday night since the last time we played our inprovement as been massive, we showed to all who were intrested that the championship standard of football as moved on,we have had to given we are all hoping to make it to the premiership.. so why not Burnley v Derby final personally we would like derby next then utd in the final

Sabah Mehmood (Newcastle United fan) says...

I think united will win, out of all the teams left they have the most quality Possebon, Gibson, Giggs, Tevez, Foster, Rafael not a bad second string!

Darren Coatez (Burnley fan) says...

No other team has had a tougher route than burnley to the semi,s but we are not prepared to go out yet. Bring on spurs in the semi,s and lets make it 4 londan clubs out at our hands. then United in the final....Europe needs a nice Vintage Claret.

John Hughes (Manchester United fan) says...

I have a strong feeling that Manchester United and Spurs won't play each other in the semi's. But it would be great for the Championship if they did. And would give us an intresting final. The Premiership v The Championship final would be very exiting. At this stage Manchester United ar probably the favourites to win the cup with Spurs second. But It won't be easy for anyone. Spurs will want to win it a lot to secure an european place next season. And Burnley and Derby will obviously want a win. It wont be Uniteds main priority but they will try for it. And with the critics for Giggs, Scholes and Neville. I know that they are well past their best years, but they are still worth having in the squad. They would fit into some clubs starting 11 still. Why get rid of experience anyway? It will be a boost to jst have them on the field for 10 minutes for us.

White Ranker says...

I have grown up with a hatred to Man United, obviously as they have won everything in sight and I am jealous as anything (although as a Liverpool fan I haven't done too badly out of Benitez) but out of sheer admiration for the trio I can think of no better way than a team with Giggs, Neville and Scholes lifting a trophy that they have won. I'm not talking about a kind hearted gesture letting them lift the Premier League which they have had little or no involvement. Let them go and win this trophy then bow out on a high.

Being a Manchester United fan I would love my club to win everything that is up for grabs. We do have a great chance to win the Carling cup (labelled Mickey Mouse cup by some!) However, if there is one trophy that I can forego it is this. I would rather see them do the double or the treble again. Burnley Vs Deby in the final would be good for the purists and would also shatter the myth that the teams outside BIG4 cannot win anything. That would be a battle of equals as well. It would also make it an old fashioned cup tie. COME ON BURNLEY AND DERBY!

Adam Jones (Liverpool fan) says...

Lets face it, its the only chance of silverwear for Utd this season, so they have to go for it. They will all be singing, and change their minds of it being a mickey mouse cup.

Paul Wilkinson says...

I think every Spurs fan will think we can win this cup now. I hate all the negativity from other clubs regarding this competition. What normal fan wouldn't love a day out at Wembley?? Last season we won the cup and it was fantastic. These are the days you will remember all your life. I would love to draw Derby or Burnley in the semi finals. I would fancy our chances against most teams over 2 legs, especially championship sides. If we reach the final it wouldn't surprise me to see a few faces playing at Wembley after Harry does a few deals in January.

Tony Carroll says...

I agree with many of the comments so far..As a Man U fanatic I'm obviously biased to a cup win for the European Champs..To go for all 5 trophies this year will be some tall order, but the Carling cup is definitely a good trophy to win in terms of confidence and giving the younger players and squad players the chance to shine and get minutes on the pitch. Tevez was awesome, alhtough I have said it is imperative he gets more of a look in as I truly believe with him in the side we look more penetrative..Burnley have been fantastic and any team (especially one form the lower leagues) who beats Fulham, Chelsea and Arsenal top young guns, deserves to at least experience the thrill of walking out onto the wembley turf..So I'm hoping for a United V Derby semi and to play the well deserving Burnley in the final!! With the first of our five possible trophies in the bag at the end of it..

Ronald Mukoloba says...

I think this time around we might see a different turn in the cup and this will be by one of the under dogs gettin the cup espercially the likes of Burnley!

Adrian Crawford (Tottenham Hotspur fan) says...

I hope United & Spurs avoid each other in the semi's. If that happens then we'll get a great footballing final. BUT I also think that Burnley against either Spurs or United would be a great final too, especially if its against Spurs, a repeat of the FA Cup Final of '62. Last year we were given no chance against Chelsea in the final, so yes, Spurs can win it again. Good luck to all the teams & lets have two spectacular semi finals to show all those non believers out there that the League Cup is still a worthy competition.

Simon Mckeegan says...

great to see scholes back. united need to play like that for the rest of the season. tevez was amazing. i still believe that berbatov is a waste of space but i think he could do better

Darren Jarvis says...

Well, it's all set up for a Man U Vs Spurs final surely?? That would actually make a great final, but I wonder if Sir Alex will play the kids? Then again, with kids like Da Silva, that's still quite a frightening thought for Spurs fans (of which I'm one) - presuming we get there that is!!

Gaz Brelsford says...

I would like to see Burnley drawn against derby in the semi finals this would be a game we would be favorites in. However a two legged semi at old trafford would be a great occasion for the fans. UP THE CLARETS!

Kaden C.g (Manchester United fan) says...

Anderson, Nani, Rafael all look like their young pre-decessors along with gibson looking like a young carrick the united youth look like they could be a force to be reckoned with to most premiership teams even at such a young age

Shuja Ahmad (Manchester United fan) says...

Yeah, i have to agree that i think Gary Neville has nothing to offer the united squad anymore (especially on the pitch). He is past his best & the injuries have simply finished him off! Giggs, too, has not got much to offer & has already cost united a few points with mistakes (remember the Liverpool winner setup by his mistake?). I think they both know this & will retire at the end of the season, as will scholes. Great Players who improved in the face of criticism & were genuine winners. Will be hard to replace these guys for the length of time they gave to united.
