I've always said I want to move up the weights to light-welter, maybe in 12 months and if Ricky is still around that fight could be made

Amir Khan admits he would love the chance to go toe-to-toe with Ricky Hatton - but not before he's made his mark at lightweight first.
The Bolton boxer is currently preparing for his next bout against unbeaten Breidis Prescott on September 6, the first of a multi-fight deal with Sky Sports.
Manchester's MEN Arena will host the latest chapter in the British's lightweight's career as he continues on his quest for a world title fight.
With his stock rising with every win, Khan could have some big names looming large on the horizon, none bigger than his compatriot and fellow Mancunian Hatton.
A move up to light-welterweight could see the two do battle in a blockbusting bout that the Olympic silver medallist believes would be one of the biggest in British boxing history.
"What a fight it would be," Khan told Sky Sports News.
"I've always said I want to move up the weights to light-welter, maybe in 12 months and if Ricky is still around that fight could be made.
"It would be a massive fight - both of us come from Manchester - and it is a fight that people would want to watch.
"It would be one of the biggest British fights ever and you'd have a lot of viewers watching it."
Before Khan can start thinking about Hatton, or any other box office opponents such as the likes of Joel Casamayor or Juan Diaz, he must first dispose of Prescott.
Like the reigning Commonwealth champion, the Colombian has a perfect record as a professional and his record of 17 knockouts in 19 fights suggest he has the power to be a threat.
"The next fight is in Manchester and that is another step up," Khan said. "He (Prescott) is good, he's got a similar record to me in that he's had 19 fights and he's undefeated.
"He's knocked 17 of the 19 out, so it's a big step up. It's going to be a 50-50 fight.
"I've put the hard work into the training, it's going to be a big step up but I'm going to grab it with both hands."
Wayne McCullough says British ring legends Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzaghe can dominate this year.
Sky Sports' top team of pundits tell us who they are tipping to make a name for themselves in 2009.
The Hitman bounced back in style, Joe Calzaghe stayed perfect and the Golden Boy lost his shine.
