Amir Khan has vowed to bounce back from his brutal knockout at the hands of Breidis Prescott.

The Bolton boxer was stunned just 54 seconds into the MEN Arena fight and put down twice on the way to his first professional defeat.

He was decked within 18 punches and although he insisted his head was clear after the first knockdown, was stopped straight after the restart.

It left him with an 18-1 career slate, but the 21-year-old says he will learn from the defeat and be back better than before.

"I made a stupid little mistake in there and I just couldn't get it back again," he told Sky Box Office.

"That's boxing for you, I need to have a look at the video and come back stronger from it.'

"I knew he had speed and I knew he had power. It was a massive gamble taking this fight. I took it to see where I was and that happens, but I'll come back stronger."

Khan may have blamed the defeat on that 'mistake', but promoter Frank Warren was not so magnaminous.

Warren admitted it was his decision to sanction the fight with the dangerous Prescott, but hinted he was pushed in the direction by Khan's new trainer Jorge Rubio.

"I've got to take responsibility for it at the end of the day," he said. "It was recommended by the new trainer but I went with it so hands up to that.'

"He got caught cold in the first round and didn't get a chance to get into the fight. We knew Prescott was a dangerous fighter.'

Despite the shocking manner in which Khan was demolished, Warren insisted his fighter would be back.

But he stressed that he would have to learn from his nightmare experience in Manchester.

"He's not the first fighter to get beat," he said.

"There's lots of fighter who've got beaten in their careers and come back and won titles, as long as they can learn from it. That's what he's got to do."
