Quotes of the week
Lawrence Dallaglio has been suspended for one week after being found guilty of striking Leicester prop Julian White.
Following the Rugby Football Union's (RFU) citing of Dallaglio Wasps investigated the matter and concluded that whilst Dallaglio infringed IRB Rule 10(4)(a) there was no malice or intent on his behalf.
Taking into account his exemplary previous disciplinary history the club has decided that it is appropriate to suspend Dallaglio from playing for one week, effective from March 25, 2008.
"I accept the sanction of a week's suspension from playing for my club," Dallaglio said of the suspension.
"I acknowledge that my actions infringed the rules, although I wish to stress that they were unintentional and without any malice. I have extended my apologies to Julian White.
"I hope that I can now draw a line under this incident and enjoy playing out the rest of my final season."
Dallaglio, 35, will retire from all rugby in April following a glittering career that saw him help England win the 2003 World Cup.
He will miss the trip to Leicester in the Guinness Premiership on Saturday and could yet receive a lengthier sentence from the RFU.
