Patrice Evra Stamford Bridge brawl Chelsea v Manchester United

Evra: Denies charge

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra and Chelsea groundsman Sam Bethell have both denied Football Association charges of improper conduct.

The pair clashed during United's on-pitch warm-down following a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge towards the end of the 2007/08 campaign.

And following an FA investigation, Evra and Bethell were both charged, while the latter was also charged with using abusive language aggravated by reference to nationality/race.

Evra insisted he had done nothing wrong, while Chelsea were also angered by the accusation levelled against Bethell.

Personal hearings have been requested by Evra and Bethell, although the FA have yet to announce a date for the hearings.
