Manchester City have concluded the transfer of highly-rated Croatian Vedran Corluka.

The commanding defender, who can play at right-back or centre-half, has arrived from Dinamo Zagreb.

Skysports.com reported on Wednesday that a deal had been struck and now City have confirmed the move has been completed.

The deal is Sven Goran Eriksson's sixth capture of the summer and is the second defensive recruit in the space of 24 hours following the arrival of left sider Javi Garrido from Real Sociedad.

Five-year deal

City have not revealed the fee, but reports from Croatia say the deal is worth around £8million.

The 21-year-old has penned a five-year deal, subject to him being granted a work-permit.
