Skysports.com can reveal that Liverpool have snapped up Hungarian goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.

The 17-year-old has arrived on an initial one-year loan with an option for a two-year contract, and joins fellow countrymen Krisztian Nemeth and Andras Simon at Anfield.

Gulacsi is a product of the Sandor Karoly Academy, which is associated with MTK - Liverpool's Hungarian feeder club, who they signed a co-operation deal with earlier this year.

Gulacsi trained with Liverpool for ten days last month, as skysports.com revealed, and he did enough to secure his move.

Dream

"I woke up and went to bed day by day with the thought that I have the chance to became a Liverpool player," Gulacsi told skysports.com.

"My agents informed me that other clubs from Europe and from the Premiership had been watching me but my desire was to come to Liverpool.

"In March, Pepe Reina sent me a pair of his signed keeper gloves and I admit, that time it was only a very secret dream of mine that one day I would train with him.

"Since then it's like I was in a dream world."

Gulacsi admits he had his doubts as to whether he could earn his move to Liverpool.

"When I first came here there were a great number of goalkeepers [at Liverpool] and honestly I didn't think that I could sign with Liverpool during this transfer period but my agents kept reassuring me," he continued.

"When I was told I would get a contract from Liverpool my happiness was unlimited."
