Billy Davies is hoping Derby County can shortly finalise the signings of Benny Feilhaber and Mika Vayrynen.

USA international Feilhaber has agreed a three-year contract to move to Pride Park in a £1million deal from Hamburg.

The midfielder has passed a medical, but Davies is waiting to receive international clearance, which could allow Feilhaber to play against Manchester City on Wednesday.

"Benny has finished off his medical and trained, when he looked excellent," Davies told the club's official website.

"We are hoping now to get the clearance done as quickly as possible."

Talks ongoing

The deal for Vayrynen could take a further week, however, with the PSV Eindhoven midfielder having returned to his native Finland as he looks to shake off a calf injury.

A fee has been reached with the Dutch champions, and Vayrynen has also settled on personal terms with Derby.

But Rams boss Davies concedes the transfer is currently on hold with the player having gone back to his homeland.

Davies added: "Mika has gone back to Finland as he is carrying a slight calf injury, so discussions are still ongoing.

"We are hoping to get him back over the next week or so to finish off one or two things."
