Wigan's Denny Landzaat has been called into the Holland squad for this week's friendly with Switzerland.

Landzaat has been handed the late call-up after an injury to PSV Eindhoven's Ibrahim Afellay.

Afellay picked up an ankle injury in Sunday's win over Heracles and Holland's medical staff have ruled out him of the friendly in Geneva.

Landzaat has enjoyed a fine start to the new season with Wigan helping them to win two of their opening three games.

The former AZ Alkmaar midfielder joins Latics team-mate Mario Melchiot in Marco van Basten's squad.
