Saha: Ready to return
Sir Alex Ferguson believes Louis Saha could be the man to solve Manchester United's striker crisis.
Wayne Rooney's fractured foot has left the champions short of recognised front men and the club's poor start to the season is testimony to their struggles in front of goal.
Talk this week has been dominated by an alleged approach for Tottenham's Dimitar Berbatov, according to his agent, but this has been categorically denied by Ferguson and his board.
Saha, who has been troubled by hamstring and knee injuries since February, is now close to full fitness and is expected to be on the bench at Old Trafford on Sunday, when Spurs are the visitors.
His return has certainly come at just the right time for Ferguson, who remains a staunch admirer of the Frenchman.
"Louis is an out-and-out front player," he beamed.
"He has pace and power and if he had continued playing throughout last season he might have scored 30.
"He was a big loss to us in the second half of the season because we just never got him back out on the field.
"But he has been doing well in training over the last two weeks and it will be a big boost to have him back."
