Miguel: New deal

Valencia star Miguel has ended speculation over his future by signing a new deal at the club.

The Portuguese international has been continually linked with a move to England with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all credited with holding an interest in the full-back.

However, Valencia have managed to tie him down to a new long-term deal to keep him at La Mestalla until 2012.

Happy

"I confirm that I've signed two more years with Valencia and I'm very happy with that," Miguel told the club's official website.

"It was my wish and I hope I can fulfil my new contract."

Miguel also revealed his shock at the news that Jose Mourinho had left Valencia's UEFA Champions League opponents Chelsea and he hopes his side take advantage of the uncertainty within the Chelsea camp, when they face each other next month.

Sorry
"I've only just found out. I'm sorry for him and I wish him the best," added Miguel.

"I hope this affects them, but time will tell.

"It's always a difficult situation when the trainer leaves at the beginning of a season, but they have a great squad and they can always take you by surprise."
