Klose: Laid low

Miroslav Klose looks set to miss the forthcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers with Republic of Ireland and Czech Republic.

The Bayern Munich striker faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury.

Klose is expected to be out for 'three weeks minimum', according to Bayern boss Ottmar Hitzfeld.

It means Klose is likely to be ruled out for Germany's trip to Croke Park to face Republic of Ireland on 13th October and the home clash with the Czechs four days later.

The news is a blow for Germany boss Joachim Low as his side look to secure their spot at next summer's finals.
