Meite: Concerned

Abdoulaye Meite has admitted the situation at Bolton is getting desperate with the search ongoing for Sammy Lee's successor.

Phil Gartside has identified a number of candidates for the vacant managerial post at The Reebok Stadium, but Meite believes only former boss Sam Allardyce or the Messiah can fix the problem.

Bolton dropped to the bottom of the Premier League at the weekend following defeat at Arsenal and Meite is getting increasingly concerned with every game.

"We can't find a solution," the defender told The Bolton News.

"Maybe the only solution would be the return of Allardyce. But it is impossible. Or maybe the Messiah!

"We have to find a solution very quickly because we are sinking. Today we are going down and down.

"We defend, we defend but can't do it for 90 minutes and we are obliged to crack. We can't continue to play like that.

"The coach (Lee) had the intention to play football, but it is difficult to do it at Bolton. It is worrying."

Anelka exit?

Meite understands why star striker Nicolas Anelka would want away, with the Frenchman being linked with a £12.5million move to Milan.

"Nicolas Anelka would be a huge loss for the club. But I understand him," he added.

"We can't give him good balls. The passes go over his head. He is asking questions and it is normal."
