Cardiff City have completed the signing of Kasper Schmeichel from Manchester City.

The Danish goalkeeper has agreed a one-month loan deal with The Bluebirds and goes straight into their squad for this weekend's clash with Scunthorpe.

"It will be very good for him to go on loan for one month to Cardiff and then after that we will see what is happening," said City boss Sven Goran Eriksson.

The 20-year-old had a spell as first choice at Eastlands - but he has since lost out to Joe Hart and with Andreas Isaksson also available Schmeichel has been allowed to move on a temporary basis.

Cardiff moved for Schmeichel after Ross Turnbull was recalled by Middlesbrough from a season-long spell.
