Meite: Confident

Bolton defender Abdoulaye Meite is confident the side will get themselves out of trouble at the wrong end of the Premier League.

The Trotters are currently sitting second from bottom, but have drawn their last two Premier League games under new boss Gary Megson.

Meite believes things are improving at The Reebok Stadium and that they have enough quality in the squad to avoid a relegation scrap this term.

"The draw at West Ham shows the Bolton supporters that we care about this great team," Meite told skysports.com.

Good players

"We will be out of trouble very soon, we have good players to get out of the bottom three."

Meite singled out Nicolas Anelka as the man who can prove the difference for Bolton and fire them out of trouble as he rates the Frenchman as one of the best strikers in the world.

" He is at the same level of any top striker in the world," added Meite.

"He is awesome on his day, unplayable on his day.

"He is up there with Rooney,Drogba,Torres and Tevez. He is simply quality.

"That is why we will get out of trouble."

Struggles
Meite admits the club struggled to cope following the departure of Sam Allardyce last season.

The former Marseille ace also admitted he was disappointed things did not work out for Allardyce's replacement Sammy Lee, but backed the former Liverpool coach to return to management soon.

"The departure of Sam destabilised the team a bit," added Meite. "For someone who spent more than eight years at a club and then that guy leaves the following period is tough.

"Sammy Lee, is one of the greatest coaches I have worked under, however things did not work out for him,

"But he will get another job because he is very good, I can tell you."
