Darlington have agreed a deal with Southend for Richie Foran.

The 27-year-old only joined Southend earlier this year when they paid Motherwell £200,000.

However, Foran has failed to establish himself at Roots Hall and is now set for a move to the Darlington Arena.

Done deal

"We're going to sign Richie Foran," confirmed Quakers chief Dave Penney.

"We're after a little bit more experienced kind of player and, touch wood, Richie he is going to join next week.

"He will give us more options on the wide areas, and he can play upfront too if needed.

"November 22 is when the window shuts altogether, we can't bring anyone in on loan after then until January so we're trying to get a few more bodies in now prior to that date."
