Rangers winger DaMarcus Beasley is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering suspected knee ligament damage.

Beasley was carried off on a stretcher after colliding with Stuttgart goalkeeper Raphael Schafer in the second half of the 3-2 UEFA Champions League defeat on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old now expects to be forced out of action during a critical part of Rangers' season.

The United States international told the Evening Times: "It looks like I've damaged a ligament, and I'll get a scan today to see just how bad it is.

Twisted

"I kind of twisted my knee when the keeper made contact, it wasn't his fault."

The former PSV Eindhoven forward could now miss a run of seven games in December, including the decisive Champions League Group E match against Lyon on 12th December.

Walter Smith's side need a draw to secure a place in the knockout phase.
