Blackburn have played down talk linking Jason Roberts with a move away from Ewood Park.

Roberts is reported to be considering his options at Blackburn after growing frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities.

Sunderland are believed to be weighing up a move for the former Wigan hit-man in the January transfer window as they look to bolster their attacking options.

Rovers chairman John Williams says they have had no approaches for Roberts and that they want to keep the 29-year-old at Ewood Park.

"I'm not aware of any interest and, in my opinion, we would want to keep him at the club," Williams told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
