Muntari: Pompey pledge

Sulley Muntari has reaffirmed his commitment to Portsmouth, amid talk Liverpool are monitoring his situation.

Speculation this week has linked the powerful Ghanaian with a move to Anfield, as Rafa Benitez looks to add a couple of new faces to his squad in January.

Muntari has made no secret of his ambition to one day play for a bigger club but his immediate priorities lie with Portsmouth.

"I'm happy here and enjoying my football," said Muntari.

"I'm happy with the performances from me and the team.

"I don't care if people don't recognise me. If they recognise Pompey that's great."

European dream

Muntari has excelled for a Portsmouth side that have exceeded expectations thus far and the 23-year-old is confident they are capable of sealing European football for next season.

"We're aiming for Europe because we have good players and a good manager," he added.

"We have a way to go but we have the players, the ability - everything you need to be there.

"We have a lot of work to do still but we are planning to be in the top positions. If we keep playing and training well I seriously believe we can do it."
