Luton defender Chris Perry has admitted that he arrives for training on a daily basis expecting his team-mates to have been sold.

The deadline for interested parties to formally lodge a bid with the club's administrators passed at 5pm on Monday and Perry admits the players are confused by the whole situation.

Administrators appear to have little option but to sell some of their best players and Perry fears there will be a number of departures over the coming days.

"I'm just turning up for training every morning at the minute to see who's still here," he said.

"There's been talk of five or six of our players moving and I'm sure over the next couple of weeks we'll see who's going to be here until the end of the season.

"We have players who are a class above this division and that is why there is a lot of interest in them. They will be very difficult to replace."

Play-off hope

Luton have lost just once in 13 games and Perry believes that if a potential buyer can step in and keep hold of the current squad then they could still cap an incredible season with a place in the top six.

He said: "Hopefully we can hang on to as many as possible because I still believe that if we can keep hold of the majority of the squad then we still have an outside chance of making the play-offs.

"In the summer, we were really hoping for promotion and it's taken longer to gel with so many changes than we would have hoped.

"But the results have been coming and we feel that we can go for the rest of the season without losing too many more games.

"But it's completely out of our hands. We have got no say in what happens and we are really kept in the dark to a certain extent."
