Kapo: Sunderland interest

Skysports.com understands Sunderland have made an enquiry for Birmingham City midfielder Olivier Kapo.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to add to his squad during January's transfer window.

Keane is now thought to have registered an interest in Birmingham's French international Kapo.

The 27-year-old moved to St Andrews in a £3million deal from Juventus last summer and made an immediate impression in the Premier League.

He scored on his debut against Chelsea and also made decisive goalscoring contributions against Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.

But Alex McLeish's appointment as Steve Bruce's successor at Birmingham has seen Kapo fall out of favour.

The left-sided midfielder has made just three substitute appearances since McLeish took over and is keen to play on a regular basis.
