Hoddle: Timing not right
Glenn Hoddle has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant manager's job at Southampton.
The former England boss has been linked with a possible return to Southampton as a replacement for new Scotland manager George Burley.
Speculation intensified about a move for Hoddle after John Gorman, who was Hoddle's assistant at Southampton, was put in caretaker charge along with Jason Dodd for Saturday's FA Cup clash with Bury.
However, Hoddle says the timing is not right for a return to management as he is committed to his new academy project in Spain.
"At the moment I am right in the middle of getting my academy up and running in Spain," Hoddle told the Daily Express. "While I am flattered to be linked to a return to Southampton, it isn't right for me now.
"If it was not for the academy, I would definitely give it serious consideration.
"But the academy is very important to me. I have been developing it for 14 months, and am talking to potential investors."
