Adebayor and Bendtner: Clash

Arsenal right-back Emmanuel Eboue believes it is paramount that footballers control their emotions.

Eboue's comments follow the on-field row between team-mates Emmanuel Adebayor and Nicklas Bendtner.

The duo were involved in an altercation during The Gunners' 5-1 Carling Cup defeat on Tuesday evening where Adebayor appeared to strike Bendtner.

Captain William Gallas was forced to step in and break up the incident, but after reviewing the incident The Football Association confirmed no formal disciplinary action would be taken.

Take care

Eboue, currently at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast, admits he is unsure about why the clash broke out, but has voiced his hope that the pair learn from their mistakes.

"I don't know what happened. I tried to call my friend and he said to me that Adebayor punched Bendtner. But I didn't ask him why," he told Sky Sports News.

"I am going to call Ade and speak to him about it. It is no good for a young player to see that on the pitch.

"For me, you have to take care when you are on the pitch and be careful because a lot people are watching the game.

"I am hungry when I am playing, but I hope I would never punch someone."
