Jenas: Hopes
Jermaine Jenas is determined to use Tottenham's FA Cup clash against Manchester United this weekend to impress England boss Fabio Capello.
Jenas has played a pivotal part in helping Spurs reach the Carling Cup final this week following their thrashing of Arsenal and is positive that they can give United a run for their money in the fourth round FA Cup tie.
The 24-year-old midfielder scored at Old Trafford two seasons ago and is planning on posting another good performance in a bid to catch the attention of Capello.
"It's always good to play well for my club, which is my main issue," said Jenas.
"If the England manager is there to watch my performances then that is great.
"I've always stated that I want to be in the England squad so hopefully when it gets announced I'll be in it. If not I'll just work harder.
"We're going to Old Trafford and it's not an easy place to go but we go there full of confidence after the Arsenal game. We're looking forward to it now.
"I was lucky enough to bang one in there before so hopefully I can keep the decent run going.
"Aaron Lennon chipped in with a goal against Arsenal and another good performance.
"There are a few of us doing all right but we've got to put a lid on it and concentrate on the match."
Skipper Ledley King is another player who will also have England hopes on his mind.
King has brought stability to the Spurs defence since his return from knee surgery, although he is still easing his way back into playing.
The defender is inspired by the confidence that Juande Ramos has instilled in the side since his arrival in October and believes it could have a positive effect.
"I think we have a belief we can win things," King told the club's website.
"We have a head coach who has won things before and I think that rubs off on the team."
