Adebola: Wanted by Johnson

Coventry City striker Dele Adebola is a target for Championship rivals Bristol City.

Adebola has scored four goals in 25 league appearances this season, but is not a permanent fixture in Iain Dowie's starting XI.

He could be offered a move to Ashton Gate before the close of the transfer window after Robins manager Gary Johnson admitted an interest.

"There are rumours of people we are interested in, rumours of people we are not interested in and rumours of people we have never even heard of," Johnson told the Bristol Evening Post.

"I won't discuss our targets, but Dele is someone we know about. There has been an enquiry.

"People will just have to keep their eyes on the newspapers and wait to see what happens.

"People have to leave us to get on with it and trust us to do the right thing. If someone comes in between now and Thursday, it will be to enhance the squad."

Meanwhile, midfielder Andy Gooding, who was released by Coventry earlier this month, has joined non-league side Rushden & Diamonds.
