Valencia winger Joaquin has revealed that morale at the Mestalla has sunk to an all-time low since the arrival of Ronald Koeman.

The club have won just one of their last 10 Primera Division matches and have slipped into 11th place in the table, just five points above the relegation zone.

Valencia had sat fourth when the decision was taken to part company with former boss Quique Sanchez Flores.

But instead of mounting a title challenge under new boss Koeman they have instead gone into freefall and the players have begun to question their ability to turn the situation around.

Full of doubt

"Ever since the boss took over things have got worse," Joaquin told Marca.

"The team is gutted, we are full of doubt and it is difficult to get out of a situation like this although we are the only ones who are capable of sorting it out."

Awful situation

The Spanish international also believes that Koeman's decision to axe experienced trio David Albelda, Santiago Canizares and Miguel Angulo has had a detrimental affect on the side.

"The team has been affected and it is obvious the team isn't working," said Joaquin.

"It is an awful situation because they are players who have been at Valencia for a long time and they are our team-mates.

"Because of our reputation and the players that we have we must get out of this but what worries us is that we want to but can't seem to be able to."
