Davies: Staying positive

Kevin Davies believes Bolton have become a much stronger side in recent weeks.

Bolton are only three points above the relegation zone after slipping to a 1-0 defeat against Portsmouth on Saturday.

But Davies has been impressed by new signings Tamir Cohen, Gary Cahill, Gretar Steinsson, Matt Taylor and Grzegorz Rasiak, who all featured against Pompey.

"We look a better team and we played some good stuff at times," Davies told the club's official website.

"We look a lot more solid at the back and are looking good going forward."

Davies felt Bolton were the better team at the weekend, while he was also disappointed with Lassana Diarra's winning goal, which replays suggested should have been ruled out for offside.

However, Davies remains confident that Bolton will stave off the threat of relegation.

"It's the worst feeling in the world when you have played so well. We feel we've been mugged at the end.

"We are all down but we've got to try to take the positives out of it because if we keep performing like that we will win more than we lose."
