Yakubu: Back in Moyes' plans

Yakubu Aiyegbeni has been included in Everton's squad for the Uefa Cup tie with Brann, but Mikel Arteta is out through injury.

Everton boss David Moyes left Yakubu out of his plans for last weekend's Premier League win over Reading due to the striker's late return from Africa Cup of Nations duty.

On Monday, Toffees goalkeeper Tim Howard confirmed that the Nigerian had apologised for not arriving back at Goodison Park on time.

He is now back in the Everton fold after travelling with his team-mates to Norway for Thursday's Uefa Cup tie with Brann.

Arteta back in Spain

However, Arteta will not be involved in the first leg of the last 32 fixture after the Spanish midfielder picked up a groin injury.

Moyes told the club's official website: "Mikel has a groin injury so hasn't travelled, we don't know how long he'll be out yet, but he has travelled to Spain to see a specialist."

Andy van der Meyde is in the squad for the game, with the Dutch winger yet to make a first-team appearance this season due to his ongoing injury troubles.
