Giggs: Geared up for clash
Ryan Giggs is confident of finishing the job at Old Trafford on Tuesday when Manchester United take on Lyon in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League clash.
Karim Benzema put Lyon ahead in the first leg but Carlos Tevez grabbed a late away goal and Giggs believes United are now favourites to make it through to the quarter-finals.
The Welsh winger is expecting a tough game but believes United should be strong enough to progress.
He said: "The goal has put us in a good position because we are strong at home and we know we have a good chance.
"It was a hard game against Lyon but we showed a lot of character and eventually got the goal.
"This team never gives up and we definitely have more options than last season."
Giggs, who has been struggling with a calf strain this week, made his 100th Champions League appearance in France and is intent on adding to that impressive tally.
"I am happy to have reached this milestone. It means a lot to me," he said.
"Now it is done I can concentrate on playing a few more."
Meanwhile, Patrice Evra has backed team-mate and fellow Frenchman Louis Saha to play a major part for United over the last few months of the season.
Saha has only recently returned to fitness and Evra believes he will need to contribute if United are to sustain their challenge in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
"We've got Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez but we need one more striker to win trophies this season," Evra told the club's official website.
"Louis is the right guy for that job. In training he has been unbelievable.
"He looks sharp, strong and, most importantly, angry. You can see it in his eyes. He wants to do well.
"Louis has a strong mentality because he has suffered quite a few injuries, but he's still here and wants to do well.
"Now I hope his injuries are behind him. We need him if we are going to win trophies this year."
