Injured Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg hopes to be back in full training next week.

The Swede picked up a foot injury in training which forced him to sit out last Sunday's 2-1 away win at Reading.

He is also set to miss Villa's crucial clash with Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday.

Speaking about the situation, Mellberg told Sportbladet: "It's never fun to miss a match, it feels strange and you want to play.

"I am expecting to be back in full training in the middle of next week."

The defender, who signed for Villa back in 2001, is to join Juventus on a free transfer in the summer, having already signed a three-year contract with the Italians.
