Freedman: Possible Leeds move

Dougie Freedman could yet join Leeds United on loan after it was confirmed he has travelled to West Yorkshire to finalise a deal.

It had been thought manager Gary McAllister would miss out on the experienced striker after the veteran stated he did not want to leave London, where he is based with his family.

However, Eagles boss Neil Warnock has now stated Freedman is still considering making the move to the League One club.

"Dougie's going to Leeds to talk to them about a possible move," Warnock told the South London Press.

Considering

"If it hadn't been for a club the size of Leeds coming in, he wouldn't even have thought about going."

The former Sheffield United boss has also stated the 34-year-old will be given a staff job at Selhurst Park next term.

"Dougie knows there's a coaching job here for him next season," said Warnock. "He's done very well helping out with the reserves but he still wants to play."

Meanwhile, question marks linger over captain Mark Hudson's future as contract extension talks are still some way from an amicable conclusion.

"I've spoken to Mark's representatives and we are still a long way apart," Warnock told the Advertiser.

"We'll continue talking - but I have to admit that I'm disappointed."
