French star fumes at being substituted

Robert Pires has revealed that Thierry Henry was so angry after being substituted against Villarreal that he stormed out of Camp Nou and did not speak to his former team-mate.

The Barca forward was taken off for Bojan Krkic in the second half of the Blaugrana's defeat by the Yellow Submarines on Sunday and was not happy about the switch.

Henry had agreed to meet his former Arsenal team-mate after the game, but then left early after being taken off by Frank Rijkaard and Pires admitted that his friend was not happy.

Not happy

"He was angry because he is not used to being substituted. At Arsenal he was never substituted," the Villarreal star was quoted as saying by Sport.

"We agreed to speak after the game and have a good chat, but when I went to find him they said that he had gone home. But he had left me his shirt though.

"If I said that Henry was fine then I would be called a liar. It is difficult because I do not play in his position, he is always switching between the right and the left. I know him and I know he is not good."

Henry missed training on Monday with an alleged migraine, but the club insisted that he was in the stadium working in the gymnasium.

Relations between the Barca squad and the press have deteriorated rapidly in recent weeks and only Andres Iniesta and Gianluca Zambrotta walked through the Zona Mixta to speak after the game.
