Vogel: Rovers new boy

Blackburn new boy Johann Vogel is relishing the prospect of playing in the Premier League.

Vogel joined Rovers on a free transfer earlier this week after impressing during a trial period at Ewood Park.

The Swiss international has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal at Ewood Park, with the option of a further 12 months and Vogel is delighted to get the chance to ply his trade in England.

"I'm very happy the deal is done," Vogel told the club's official website.

"I played for many years in the Netherlands, in Serie A and the Primera Liga in Spain and now for me it is a great opportunity to play in the Premier League.

"It is one of the three leagues that it has always been an objective of mine to play in, I can't wait to get started.

"I've trained more than two weeks with the squad and I think I have to practise a little bit more, that is normal after 10 months without playing, but if I am given my chance to play then I will do my best.

"If the manager thinks I'm ready then I'll be happy as 10 months is a long time. If he wants me to play this season, I'll grab my chance."
