Bent happy with sub role

Tottenham striker Darren Bent has stated he will not let his head drop despite often being used as a substitute by Juande Ramos.

With Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov in scintillating form for Spurs this season, the former Charlton man has regularly been relegated to a watching brief.

Bent emerged off the bench again on Saturday, although the short appearance against Portsmouth helped Spurs secure a crucial 2-0 success over the South Coasters.

Contribute

The former Addicks ace has no problem being used as a substitute as he is more than happy at White Hart Lane if he can still contribute to the team.

"There's no point in sulking and coming on to the pitch and no doing anything," said Bent.

"I have made a few substitute appearances this season but for me it's just nice to go on and do something to change the game.

"You've got to keep trying and see what happen. It was the same last season so I knew what it was all about."
