Jones: Free to play

Sunderland have received a major boost ahead of their game with West Ham after it was confirmed Carlos Edwards and Kenwyne Jones are free to play.

It had been thought the duo could miss out with Trinidad & Tobago apparently set to invoke a Fifa sanction denying Sunderland use of the pair until five days after Wednesday's match with Jamaica.

Trinidad & Tobago had threatened to impose the sanction after The Black Cats tried to have the duo withdrawn from Francisco Maturana's squad for the Kingston clash.

However, Black Cats boss Roy Keane and Trinidad & Tobago's 2006 World Cup captain Dwight Yorke managed to persuade T&TFF special adviser Jack Warner to drop the threat.

"We are putting all that behind us," Warner told the Trinidad & Tobago Express. "We won't invoke the Fifa regulation."
