Shevchenko: Uncertain future
Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has reiterated his desire to bring forgotten Chelsea striker Andrei Shevchenko back to the club.
Shevchenko's future at Chelsea looks in doubt after dropping down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the January arrival of Nicolas Anelka.
The 31-year-old has struggled to establish himself in West London since his £30million move from Milan in 2006.
The Ukrainian is a big fans favourite at Milan having scored 173 goals in almost 300 matches for the Rossoerni during seven seasons at the club and Berlusconi would love to have him back at the San Siro.
"It would be good for Shevchenko to return to us," Berlusconi told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I think regularly about Shevchenko and I often speak to him.
"The fans would understand that this would be the ideal choice for us."
Berlusconi also revealed he could offer injured striker Ronaldo a new deal with the Italian giants.
Ronaldo, whose current contract ends in the summer, is recovering from a serious knee injury and there have been fears over his future.
However, Berlusconi is ready to offer the Brazilian a deal if he can return to full fitness.
"If he has the will, he will return," added Berlusconi "I would like to give him a performance-related contract in order to motivate him."
Berlusconi also gave his backing to under-fire coach Carlo Ancelotti despite the club's poor run of form.
Milan face a fight to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League as they currently sit in sixth spot four points adrift of the lucrative fourth place.
"Carlo is going very well," noted Berlusconi.
"You change in order to improve. For Milan who could I find better?"
