Barnsley defender Stephen Foster will miss the club's FA Cup semi-final due to a foot injury.

Foster has been ruled out of Sunday's Wembley showdown with Championship rivals Cardiff City, live on Sky Sports 1, after failing to shake off the problem.

Tykes manager Simon Davey admits it is a blow for the centre-half, who has been a key figure in the club's FA Cup run.

"Stephen has a badly bruised foot," Davey told the club's official website.

"It is very unfortunate for him, but he will not be fit in time for Sunday."

Foster had scored the equaliser in the third round tie against Blackpool before drawing Barnsley level in their famous fifth round success at Liverpool.
