Parry: Ready for Benitez talks

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry says he would be happy to hold talks with Rafa Benitez over claims he met with Jurgen Klinsmann.

Benitez demanded talks with the club's board after more revelations over the meeting with Klinsmann last year emerged over the weekend.

Reds co-owner Tom Hicks claimed Parry and George Gillett talked to Klinsmann about possibly replacing Benitez at Anfield.

The latest twist has raised further doubts about Benitez's future on Merseyside and the Spaniard is keen to get to the bottom of the situation.

Parry says he has no problem discussing the issue with Benitez in a bid to clear up the matter.

"I am more than happy to sit down and talk to Rafa about this," Parry told the Liverpool Echo.

The same report claims that Klinsmann had two meetings with Hicks last year about the manager's job at Liverpool being appointed as the in-coming Bayern Munich boss.
