Davies: Fractured finger

Kevin Davies fears he may miss the rest of the season after suffering a broken hand against West Ham.

The Bolton striker initially believed that he had fractured a finger during the Trotters' 1-0 win at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.

However, further examinations have now revealed that his hand is in fact broken in three places, with the finger also fractured.

Davies would have missed Bolton's next two league fixtures through suspension anyway after picking up a tenth yellow card of the season against the Hammers, but he had hoped to be involved in the club's final two games of the campaign against Sunderland and Chelsea.

Doubtful

Currently sitting two points adrift of safety, Davies' influential presence would be a huge loss for Gary Megson's men, and the forward admits that the situation looks bleak.

"I've got three fractures and I had an operation on Tuesday," he said.

"Whether I've got a chance of getting back for the last two games is doubtful, but hopefully it heals quickly.

"I'll have it rescanned before we play Sunderland at home and maybe I could play with a cast on."
