Aguero to stay put
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has told Chelsea and Real Madrid to forget about signing Sergio Aguero.
Before he joined Atletico in 2006, 19-year-old Aguero was regarded as one of the hottest prospects in world football, and he has not disappointed since his move to La Liga.
Likened to Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Aguero is now attracting a lot of attention and the likes of Chelsea and Real are both said to be readying bids to tempt the Rojiblancos into selling their prized asset.
But less than 12 months after selling Fernando Torres, Atletico know their fans would be loath to lose Aguero.
After fresh reports linking Aguero with a summer move away from the club, Cerezo has denied a transfer is on the cards.
"The kid is not for sale, to Real Madrid, Chelsea or any other club," Cerezo told the Spanish media.
"The decision of the club has not changed.
"Aguero will stay with Atletico because the club has a big project for next season, we want to play in the Champions League and he is key. The player is calm about the rumours."
Aguero himself was quizzed about the interest in him, particularly the reported keenness of Chelsea, but insisted he was not looking for a big-money move.
"At the moment my head only imagines me being in this club for many years," he said.
"It is imaginable that I could triumph in any big English club, but at the moment money is not the priority in my life."
At the moment Aguero is tied to Atletico for another four years - although his buy-out is set at just less than £30million which may not be enough to deter the likes of Chelsea and Real from making a bid, and so the club are looking into expanding this.
