King: Fitness fight

Juande Ramos could look at changing the Tottenham captaincy next season depending on Ledley King's progress returning from his knee injury.

King was skipper at Wembley for the Carling Cup victory in February, one of 10 games he has played this campaign, and lifted the trophy with Robbie Keane, who has taken the armband when the first-choice captain has been unavailable.

The England international has been recovering from surgery last summer and last week admitted he does not know when he will be able to play two games in a week again, which may be a factor if Ramos decides to change his skipper.

"We'll have to see what state he is in next season," said Ramos. "We're going to have to wait for the diagnosis of the doctors.

"We'll have to wait and see if he is here next season. We don't know what the squad is going to be like, and we'll make that decision then."

He added: "I know perfectly well what the situation is with Ledley's injury but that kind of information, only the doctors can give you."
