Martins: Options
Obafemi Martins insists he loves Newcastle and is happy to stay - 'for now'.
Martins has been in good form recently, scoring two goals in the last four games, and he says he is enjoying the current renaissance at St James' Park under Kevin Keegan.
But there is some debate over how long the former Internazionale man will be happy to go without playing European football, and he has hinted that he is open to other options.
"In Nigeria, they are calling me, asking if I will sign a new contract," he told The Observer.
"They say I should just go away, there are a lot of better teams, but they don't understand - if you feel a passion for a team, even if they have problems, you have to help them out.
"For now, I'm still playing here. For now.
"They say this because I miss playing Champions League as well, but a lot of players here at Newcastle have played Champions League. It's not only me.
"We're here now, we have to deal with it and try to help each other. That's the thinking."
