Vidic: Could miss Blues clash

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes it will be a bonus if Nemanja Vidic lines up against Chelsea on Saturday.

The Serbia international defender was forced out of United's goalless draw with Barcelona on Wednesday due to a stomach bug.

It had been thought Vidic could play against Barca, but after the conclusion of the Camp Nou clash Ferguson has revealed the no-nonsense defender is questionable for this weekend's crunch clash at Stamford Bridge.

The experienced Scottish tactician will give Vidic as much time as possible to feature in the top of the table clash, although he is not betting on the stopper making his team-sheet.

"I would think he is doubtful. But we will do our best. Hopefully we can get him ready for Saturday," he told Sky Sports.

Bonus

"He will be desperate to play. If we do get him it will be a bonus to us."

Upon turning his mind to this weekend's intriguing clash at Stamford Bridge, Ferguson is hoping his troops impose themselves more than they did in Barcelona.

"It is a different type of game of course. Nonetheless, we will have to address the way that Chelsea play," he continued.

"We will definitely have to impose ourselves better than we did tonight."
