Davies: Injury boost

Kevin Davies looks set to return to action for Bolton in their crunch clash with Sunderland this Saturday.

The Trotters striker has been forced to sit out the club's last two games through suspension, after picking up a tenth booking of the season during the 1-0 win over West Ham on 12th April.

The talismanic forward also broke his hand during that game and was expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the current campaign.

However, Davies is prepared to play through the pain barrier to help Bolton beat the drop and insists that he will wear a protective plaster cast if necessary.

Physical

"I've had a cast moulded and I'll try that," he told the club's official website.

"But I'll be up for it anyway. I'll play."

Wanderers manager Gary Megson is also confident that he will be able to call upon Davies' physical presence for the weekend visit from the Black Cats.

"Davo will be back," he said.

"He's free from suspension and he will play. He'll be fine."
