Ferguson: Waiting on duo

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he is not sure if Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic will be fit to face Barcelona on Tuesday night.

The key duo are doubtful for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final at Old Trafford after picking up knocks in the weekend defeat to Chelsea.

Vidic took a nasty blow to his face during a clash with Didier Drogba and was forced to be stretchered off.

Rooney also hobbled off in the second half at Stamford Bridge after aggravating a hip injury.

The pair both missed training on Monday and face a race against time to be fit for Tuesday's showdown with Barcelona.

Ferguson admitted it was touch and go whether the pair would be fit, but he insists he will give them until the last minute to make the game.

"We will give them evey chance," said Ferguson.

"Nemanja didn't train yesterday and he didn't train today. Neither did Wayne train so it is a difficult one.

"We think both could make it but I can't be dead certain about that."
