Gera: Key figure for Baggies

Zoltan Gera is confident he will be playing in the Premier League next season, but whether it is with West Brom remains subject to conjecture.

The talented Hungarian played an instrumental role as West Brom won the Championship title courtesy of a final day victory at QPR.

Baggies boss Tony Mowbray is desperate to tie the 29-year-old to a new deal but the schemer's out-of-contract status means he is an interesting prospect for other clubs.

Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Wigan, Bolton and an unnamed Spanish side have been mooted as suitors, but for now, Gera is remaining tight lipped over his future.

Aims achieved

"We did what we had to: WBA are promoted," Gera told Nemzeti Sport.

"Our team was the strongest in the league but it couldn't have been enough by itself - we won the Championship because we won the important matches.

"My team-mates, the management and the fans want me to stay and it makes me feel good but at the moment I don't know how to continue.

"Now I'll have some free time to think about my future. I have to think not only about myself but also about my family. I must see what's the best for them. Now only one thing is for sure - WBA are promoted."
