O'Hara: New Spurs deal

Tottenham have handed a new contract to midfielder Jamie O'Hara.

The 21-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal with the Carling Cup winners.

O'Hara, who has come through the youth tanks at White Hart Lane, has become a important member of Juande Ramos' first-team this season, making 25 appearances.

Now, O'Hara has been rewarded for his efforts by Ramos.

"Jamie has earned his time on the pitch this season," Ramos told the club's official website.

"He has come a long way in a short space of time so I congratulate him and this new contract is recognition of his efforts. If he continues in the same vein he will become a very important player for us.

"Jamie is an example to all the young players at the club in that reaching the first-eam can be achieved through hard work and giving the best of yourself."

Challenging

O'Hara added: "The boss is building a squad that is going to be up there challenging for honours and to be told that I am part of his long-term plans by giving me a three-year deal is good for me.

"I just want to keep showing him that I want to progress and become one of the top players at Tottenham Hotspur.

"To have another three seasons at the club that I have always wanted to play for is great and now I just can't wait for pre-season to begin."
