Samuel Eto'o has reacted angrily to being jeered by the Barcelona fans and the club are locked in negotiations to stop him demanding a transfer this summer, according to a report.
The Cameroonian striker was incensed that fans believed that he deliberately picked up a yellow card in order to miss the Real Madrid game and whistled him through the Mallorca match on Sunday.
Eto'o's ire was evident after scoring Barca's second goal of the evening when he chased the ball into the net and began to kick it as heard as he could before glaring at the stands.
After the game he was said to be furious and has now indicated that he is seriously considering leaving after instructing his agent to listen to see what is on offer abroad, according to Sport.
The news will be welcomed in England and Italy where Tottenham Hotspur are said to be organising a package to try and tempt him to White Hart Lane, while Internazionale are also said to be monitoring the situation.
Sport state that while Eto'o maybe impulsive, egocentric, bold and instinctive off the field, he has always been an exemplary professional on it and that is why he is astounded that anyone had accused him of trying to avoid playing in the Bernabeu.
Barca directors and coaches are trying to persuade the former Mallorca star not to leave, but he could already have been pushed too far by the crowd.
