Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp claims he recently turned down an offer from a rival club.

Redknapp, who will be leading Portsmouth out at this weekend's FA Cup final with Cardiff, says he rejected the overtures from the mystery club because he does not want to leave Fratton Park.

The former West Ham chief turned down a move to Newcastle earlier this season and Redknapp says the recent offer he received was from a bigger club than the Magpies.

Redknapp was remaining tight-lipped on who were his mystery suitors, but insists he has no plans to leave Portsmouth.

"Newcastle was a terrific job and maybe this sounds like a lack of ambition, but I didn't want to be away from my wife," Redknapp told the Daily Star.

"It didn't appeal to me to be stuck up in a flat and coming back down at weekends.

"If I didn't like her I probably would have gone. Listen, I have turned down a bigger job than Newcastle this season.

"Only a few weeks ago, I said no because of similar reasons and, also, I don't want to walk away from here again."
